Dyed and undyed Merino wool, dyed Teeswater locks, undyed wool locks, upcycled recycled string, undyed eri silk fibres. Wet felted.
This medium, square abstract piece is a symphony of cold colours, with a prevalence of blues and accents of greys, greens, whites and browns. It suggests the idea of being underwater as a feeling of being confused and out of your depth, but at the same time as a place to explore and possibly a place where one can find shelter while up on the surface a storm might be brewing. The horizontal lay out of upcycled recycled string, wool locks and silk fibres give the piece 3-D texture and movement, as in moving water.
This piece is medium-sized (around 60 x 60 cm, unmounted) and with its strong but natural colours will be eye-catching in any space.
