Dyed and undyed Merino wool, undyed Blue Faced Leicester wool, undyed rose fibre. Wet felted.

This is a wet felted painting inspired by the scene of Titus meeting The Thing in the ancient Oak Forest, in the renown books of Gormenghast by Mervyn Peake. The Thing is portrayed as a ghost-like and shiny figure, the symbol of total freedom and solitude, a character pushed into the unreal and not-human because of her different nature. The background is dominated by deep and light greens and browns, suggesting a closed, sheltered and somewhat oppressive space.

This small squarish piece  (around 35x36 cm in size, unmounted) will stand out and define a small space.

Collectors may be interested in acquiring more paintings from the same series.

This piece is part of the "Gormenghast" series by the artist.
