FAQ: FAQ

Can I return an artwork?

Yes, you can return an undamaged artwork and get a full refund of the purchase price and delivery shipping costs. The return shipping costs will not be refunded. Terms and Conditions may apply.

Please, contact us if you wish to return one of Kiki's Textile Art purchases.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship internationally. Please, allow at least 6 weeks of shipping time: unfortunately, we can not be responsible for delays in international deliveries, due to the current disruptions to international shipping.

In what ways are you environmentally aware?

Kiki chooses natural fibers, organic where possible. Where possible, Kiki chooses undyed wool, and is committed to explore some less-impacting natural dyeing techniques.
Kiki limits fabric landfill wastage by upcycling and recycling fibers and fabrics inside new artworks.
Kiki offers her costumers the choice of a delivery of unmounted and unframed paintings, for a lower environmental impact delivery. There is also a choice for canvas-mounted artwork: this results in a lighter package, more environmentally friendly than a heavier framed-artwork delivery. Items unmounted or mounted on canvas purchased together can also be packed together, to reduce the number of deliveries.

What is felt?

Felt is an nonwoven textile fabric made of wool fibers, other fibers or a combination of wool and other fibers. There are different techniques to achieve that bonding among the fibers without a weaving, developed in different times and different places in the world since ancient times. You may have heard of yurt making, for instance, or the ancient British felt mills such as Sturminster mill: different ways to achieve sturdy water-resistant cloth from wool fibers.

What is the best framing option for me?

If you are unsure what framing option is the best for you, and would like more information on the options available on this website, please, do not hesitate to contact us and explain your needs: we will try to support you as best we can in choosing among the three options, unmounted mounted or professionally framed. Also, check out our sections on our page that details the services available on our website: you may find the answers that you are looking for.

Will moths be an issue?

I sincerely hope not! It will be a case of use it or lose it: the surest way to avoid moths damage is to keep your artwork on display where it can be in an airy and sun-lighted space (but not under direct sun-light, or the colours will fade) . Don't forget the painting inside a storage cupboard for years, and you will be able to enjoy it for many years to come.

We take care to ship it moth-free by treating each painting with freeze-thaw cycles before attaching it to the canvas and shipping it: if you are keeping it on the canvas that we have provided, you can easily remove it from the canvas and make it undergo a few cycles of freezing and thawing if you are worried about moths.

How do you make your wool moth-free?

Kiki does not like to use nasty chemicals if possible, so she uses cycles of freezing and thawing to make her wools and paintings (and jumpers as well!) moth-free. What does this mean? well, just place your wool in a bag and inside your freezer for a day, then take it out and thaw it quickly, then repeat the freezing and thawing a few times to be sure. It works.

What is a Certificate of Authenticity and do I get one with your artworks?

A Certificate of Authenticity, as the name says, is a document certifying that a work of art is authentic, original, created by the artist in a certain date and time.

Why would you want one?
It is important to certify the artwork as a true original work by that artist in case you want to:

  • sell it in the future,

  • keep it as an asset in your estate or

  • leave it as inheritance to your heirs.

Artwork without that document might be disputed as not authentic and might lose its economic value.

Do you get a Certificate of Authenticity, then?
You will get a Certificate of Authenticity with each artwork by Kiki Peruzzi: it will be inside your delivery box or package for each of the purchased artworks.

It will be signed by the artist herself, and have all of the other charecteristics that make it valid for any future transaction of the artworks.
